Tax deductible:
The Symphony of Australia Foundation is a tax deductible fund listed on the Register of Cultural Organisations under Subdivision 30-B of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997. Donations are fully tax-deductible.
Defined objectives:
A. Developing emerging Australian performing artists.
B. Awarding scholarships to talented eligible young Australian students and performing artists to gain international experience, and recognition, education and development in the area of performing arts.
C. Promoting musical, theatrical and dance productions and concerts in Australia and overseas that capture, shape and profile the skills of, and provide exposure for, young Australian performers.
D. Raising funds from the public for the promotion of the performing arts, including through the sale of compact discs, books and other printed material.
E. Supporting the composition of new Australian musical, theatrical and dance works.
F. Funding mentoring programmes for young talented Australian performers and musicians both in Australia and overseas.
G. Advocating and promoting the performing arts in schools, community groups and other educational institutions, so as to educate the public and increase public appreciation and awareness of the performing arts.
H. Providing equipment and instruments to performing artists.
I. Promoting the professional profile of Australian performing artists throughout Australia and internationally.
J. Receiving funds and distributing these funds in a manner that best attains these Objectives.
K. Seeking and inviting contributions from the public for the purposes of funding the promotion of talented Australian performers by any method deemed appropriate.
L. Accepting sponsorships from business houses, community groups, cultural groups and associations and from any party interested in promoting Australian performing artists.
